Sustainable human development is a global priority, and effective international
collaboration relies on understanding growth processes. Institutions, including official and
informal laws, play a crucial role in determining social, political, and economic affairs.
Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) nations promote unity, cooperation, conflict
resolution, diplomacy, political stability, economic cooperation, and development
initiatives addressing issues like poverty and human rights enabling member states to
improve their populations' well-being through collective efforts.
Institutional quality significantly impacts outcomes in several Human Development Index
(HDI) aspects, highlighting the complexity and varied factors determining human
development. In this context, this thesis aims to assess the impact of institutional quality
on human development within the OIC Countries investigating how Institutional quality
may have distinct effects on the health, income, and educational aspects of the (HDI) by
employing the Fixed Effect model on the 57 countries within the OIC Countries over the
period from 2003 to 2022 (N=57, T=20). The research reveals that institutional quality is a
key factor in determining human development in Organization for Islamic Cooperation
(OIC) member countries. While some countries have robust institutions, others face
challenges due to inefficiencies, corruption, and poor governance. The thesis suggests
policy intervention tools to address these obstacles, including reforms to improve
institutional quality, encourage accountability and transparency, strengthen governance
frameworks, and promote inclusive development. It also emphasizes the importance of
global collaboration, information exchange, and capacity-building programs in promoting
sustainable human development.
