Abstract

This study explores the themes and motifs of Islamic religious conversion, focusing on the challenges faced by converts and the support they require. The research encompasses the historical and theoretical framework of conversion in the Islamic context, considering factors such as culture, race, gender, and nationality. The paper delves into the motifs and stages of conversion, identity formation, belonging, betweenness, and gender differences in conversion experiences. The study investigates the conversion journey and narratives, utilizing the experiences of converts from different countries. Social media's influence on conversion narratives is also examined. The thesis findings highlight the need for further research into the support structures for converts and the role of social media in the Islamic context, emphasizing the importance of understanding Islamic teachings and practices in the conversion process.
