Abstract

The subject of this Thesis is the matrix of religious values in the charitable work (a comparative study between the Torah and the Holy Quran).The Researcher developed this Thesis in an introduction and three chapters. These chapters are made of seven topics. The Researcher indicated in the introduction of the paper the issue, goals and importance of the study, the reason of subject reason, its methodology, prior studies, and concluded with the research plan._x000D_ The Researcher dedicated Chapter One to clarify the concept of the religious values, sources of such values in the Torah and the Holy Quran. The she mentioned the aspects and types of the religious values. Then she moved to identify the concept, history, motivations, areas and goals of the charity. The goals are summarized in getting closer to Allah, being rewarded, aiding the needy, then the Researcher concluded the Chapter by mentioning the manifestations of charitable work in Islam and Judaism._x000D_ In Chapter Two the Researcher discussed the values governing the charitable work in the light of the Holy Quran, Sunnah and the Torah. These values manifest diversification, comprehension, compassionate, humanity, justice, equality, devotion and feeling responsible towards others. The Researcher reached that the matrix of the religious values is fit to be clear standards through which the quality of the charitable work is measured. It is related to the persons performing the charitable work, the entities of charitable work, sources of finance and types and methods of charitable work._x000D_ In Chapter Three, the Researcher tackled the effect of the religious values in the rationalization of the charitable work as to the most prominent sources of finance i.e. Zakat, endowments, and charities. She also dealt with their effect in the mobilizing the energies of social solidarity and human giving in society through the expansion of the concept of worship and obedience to Allah, modernization of the charitable work areas in the light of the requirements of the age and empowerment of the charitable work in order to be efficiently and successfully performed. Then, the Researchers mentioned certain obstacles standing in the way of the charitable work whether legal, internal, exterior, financial obstacles. Such obstacles, as asserted by the Researcher, require to be removed by every entity to rebuild confidence in the charitable work within the society, and care to adopt the projects of education and training._x000D_ The Researcher concluded this study by stating the most prominent results she reached, certain recommendations, references list, and the index of the subjects investigated by the research.
