Abstract

A mass transfer model has been developed to describe the rate of adsorption of dyestuffs from aqueous solutions onto adsorbents, namely, Fuller's earth, silica, activated C and fired clay. The model is based on external film mass transfer and solid phase internal diffusion. A computer program has been used to obtain the values of the two mass transfer parameters for each dye/adsorbent system.
