Abstract

This chapter explores the strategic development and planning of tourism in Dubai, focusing on overcoming barriers to achieve the Dubai Tourism Vision 2020. It examines the interplay of key stakeholders, infrastructure investments, and policy frameworks in establishing Dubai as a global tourism hub. By employing a partial SWOT analysis, the chapter highlights the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats associated with Dubai’s ambitious tourism goals. It also discusses strategies to address challenges, such as sustainability concerns, competitive pressures, and cultural integration. This study provides valuable insights into how a visionary and well-coordinated approach can transform tourism into a driving force for economic diversification and global competitiveness.
