Abstract

The performance of bandwidth efficient QPSK in the presence of cochannel interference in both nonfading and fading environments is analyzed. A recently published analytical technique for computing ISI error rates was used to compute results that account for all the effects of Gaussian noise, cochannel interference, cross channel ISI, cross channel carrier phase offsets, cross channel symbol timing epoch offsets and independent fadings of the desired and interfering signals. A double numerical integration is required for an arbitrary number of interferences. The precise results were used to assess the accuracies of sinusoidal and Gaussian cochannel interference models.
