Abstract

The agricultural sector is a major occupational sector and primary source of income for the poor in the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) countries. It also accounts for about 21 percent of global agriculture-related greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. However, the sector faces several challenges such as agricultural production and productivity, trade in agricultural commodities, agricultural population and land use in agriculture, and impacts of food price volatility.
