Abstract

Take her! My authority over her ends here and now!
Her father had not actually said anything of the sort when handing her over to her bridegroom at the church door, yet that was the feeling she had as she was taking the hand stretched out towards her, and as she started to make her way through the assembled congregation who strewed basketfuls of lilies at their feet.
