Abstract
Using technology in autism therapy is increasingly gaining more attention from researchers and practitioners; it has many advantages over traditional approaches. In this paper, we present Faheem, a tablet-based application to support parent-mediate intervention to improve receptive language for autistic children in Arabic-speaking families. We discuss some of necessary autism-related learning challenges that should be considered when developing educational systems for this type of children, and then we describe Faheem and present how these considerations were implemented.
