N2 - This article presents a comprehensive overview of the relationship between economic growth, financial development, and carbon emissions by utilizing bibliometric analysis and scientific mapping. The research utilized the Scopus database, covering the period from 1989 to 2023. Through network analysis, the study identified five primary clusters, distinguished by the geographical and technological extent of the topic. The main objective of this review is to provide a comprehensive understanding of the future research avenues in the nexus between economic growth and carbon emissions. The article discusses the authors, journals, regions, and organizations that have had a significant impact on the growth-emission nexus, along with a summary of the most frequently cited works in this field. Furthermore, a meta-analysis was conducted to determine the aggregate impact of each research initiative. Based on the analysis and identified gaps, the study proposes future research paths.
