Abstract

This paper discusses a secure system for real-time remote patient monitoring (RPMS-IoT) that employs Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) technologies and a versatile algorithm to enhance cardiac analysis. It utilizes a low-complexity adaptive Hilbert envelope algorithm guided by autocorrelation to effectively identify P-QRSxy3T features from ECG signals in real-time. The system integrates wearable sensors and microcontroller-based processing units within a cloud-based structure using HTTPS and the Blynk platform to ensure secure data transmission, storage, and visualization. Experimental results demonstrate high accuracy, with body temperature measurement errors below 1% and heart rate estimation errors under 2.9% when compared to reference medical devices. The results affirm the RPMS-IoT framework's effectiveness in secure and real-time cardiac monitoring, laying a robust groundwork for future intelligent healthcare and IoMT-powered applications.
