Abstract
A community cyberinfrastructure needs to be developed, to enable multidisciplinary research and collaboration in the fields of science and engineering. The introduction of a cyberinfrastructure will enable researchers, to share knowledge and the results of their studies, along with computing cycles, storage and bandwidth. It is also suggested that a generic and transparent cyberinfrastructure will encourage better analyses of data, visualization, modeling, and simulation of real-world phenomena. A cyberinfrastructure has emerged as an essential element for science and engineering, as both these disciplines have enhanced the process of discovery and enabled the development of new systems. Some of the new systems that have resulted from research in the fields of science and technology, include biology, ecology modeling, and specific drug products.
