Abstract

The paper has studied the processes of the biological fouling of UPM-67, UAM-500, and PAN-20 polymer membranes in filtration through them of an E.coli suspension. The paper gives quantitative indicators of the growth of microorganisms on the surface of the membranes depending on a composition of the water being treated. A correlation between membrane capacity and the amount of the E. coli cells that adhered to their surface was conducted.
