Abstract

This book consists of two volumes, with a student compendium. Part I is devoted to written textual materials, consisting of twenty-nine units covering personal and formal correspondence, the short story, the essay, poetry, proverbs and extracts from speeches and panel discussions. Part II deals with a variety of audiovisual topics based on authentic tape recordings of, among other things, lectures, speeches and short films. The following comments do not apply to the second volume because it was not possible to obtain the audiovisual recordings. They also leave out of consideration the student compendium because it was not made available to the reviewer.
