لماذا مالك بن نبي اليوم؟‎

Nearly half a century after his death, Malik bin Nabi and his ideas, writings and theses continue to attract the attention of scholars, intellectuals, research centers and scientific institutions, who hold dialogues, seminars and conferences to discuss his concepts and perspective in dealing with contemporary issues, his analytical tools, sources and transformational projects, as well as researching the importance of his thought to our contemporary reality. This paper therefore seeks to answer the question: Why Malik ibn Nabi today? To answer the question, "Why Malik ibn Nabi today?" The research tends to discuss the nature of the interest in Ibn Nabi's thought, his intellectual perspective, the major issues he addressed, and what made "Ibn Khaldun II". In addition to discussing the question of civilization and the idea of integrative employment, then analyzing the problem of backwardness in the Islamic world and the relationship with the West, and then concluding to explain Ben Nabi's vision for the issue of social change. The goal is to answer the question raised and push scientific debate and dialogue forward to enrich theory and practice to provide the conditions for the advancement of civilization. Abstract: After nearly half a century has passed since Malek Bennabi passed away, his ideas, writings and theses are still receiving the attention of scholars, thinkers, research centers and the academia, and they hold dialogues, seminars and conferences to discuss his concepts and perspectives on understanding and dealing with contemporary issues. His approach and thought importance are still attracting researchers and scholars. For this reason, this paper attempts to answer the question: Why Malek Bennabi is important today? To answer the mentioned question, this study tends to discuss the nature of Bennabi’s thought, perspective, major issues he dealt with, and what made him “the second Ibn Khaldun” of Islamic thpught. It discusses also the question of civilization, the idea of the integrative use of sciences, the analysis of the problem of backwardness in the Muslim world, the relationship with the West, and then concluding with an analysis of Bennabi's vision of the issue of social change. It is our objective that these insights that we present will lead to the answer of the question proposed and to push the scientific discussion and dialogue on such topics as steps forward to enrich the theory and practice towards providing the conditions for civilized revival.
