The second deals with the subject of dividing existence into an ancient existence and an updated one, noting that in the two principles he started from mental premises that he agreed with his opponents, as well as referring to the Arab custom of speech, and the non-biblical religions that Al-Baqlani dealt with in the "Introduction" revolve around only two religions, namely the Magi and what revolves around it, and Brahminism, in addition to the intellectual opinions that were widespread in his time and represent a type of belief, even if they were not religions, such as the naturalists Al-Baqlani addressed them among the non-biblical religions he discussed, while Al-Baqlani in his discussion of these beliefs or religions did not mention their sources and did not refer to specific texts, as much as he was discussing opinions that were widespread in his time, attributed to these religions and beliefs, and this paved the way for a very important methodological shift on the way to establishing a lesson on the religious phenomenon that is manifested in what Ibn Hazm later followed Al-Shahristani emphasized the importance of the common mental approach in the study of religions, or what Al-Faruqi called in our modern era "a universal theology for the study of religions" when he was working to revive and revive the science of Islamic religion in the 1960s.
