Abstract
This two-day workshop will convene experts in power systems, renewable energy, AI, grid control, and resilience to address the increasing vulnerability of low-inertia power grids. As Qatar and other countries integrate large shares of inverter-based renewable energy, grid inertia is being continuously reduced, while traditional grid stability mechanisms are weakened. The workshop will focus on exploring advanced solutions including synthetic inertia, grid-forming inverters, adaptive protection systems, and AI-enhanced situational awareness.
