Abstract

The project addresses a major gap in biomarkers for the stratification of triple negative breast cancer patients for immunotherapy. By integrating bioinformatics, experimental validation and proof-of-concept studies, we aim to uncover the biological mechanisms by which epigenetically silenced genes regulate cancer immunity. The outcomes will enable the development of predictive immune-related biomarkers to identify patients most likely to benefit from immunotherapy and/or strategies to improve clinical outcome, deriving benefit from precision medicine.
