Abstract

This is a strategic national research effort designed to help improve air quality and mitigate the adverse impacts of air pollution on public health and the national economy in Qatar. It provides knowledge, national capability and research-based evidence to inform the development of intervention policies for this purpose. It focuses on sources, trends and impacts of air pollution. In collaboration with partners in the health community, the project assesses the human health impacts of dust and air pollution in Qatar and urbanised arid regions.
