Abstract
This two-day workshop, part of the Hamad Bin Khalifa University's Horizon Hub Workshop Series (HHWS), is dedicated to establishing a foundation for biomimicry research and education in Qatar, with a special focus on its application in materials science. The event marks the official launch of "Thinqa", a pioneering AI-powered biomimicry platform, as part of QEERI efforts to accelerate prototyping using Biomimicry-AI. In a immersive format, all participants will receive pre-event access to the Thinqa platform and expert-led online training. They will be tasked with developing a project addressing an arid-environment challenge, which they will then fabricate using provided 3D printer facilities. The workshop will feature presentations of this work in the second day, alongside sessions from world-leading researchers, to build a skilled, passionate, and collaborative biomimicry community in Qatar from the ground up. With awards for the most innovative projects for student and researchers. The workshop in expected to gathers international experts, local researchers, and students to build a passionate and skilled biomimicry community in Qatar.
