    Biography

    Johanne Medina is an AI researcher and full-stack developer with over four years of hands-on experience building smart, scalable applications. Recently, she’s been responsible with the development of a multilingual educational chatbot at QCRI powered by Azure services, OpenAI, and RAG. The platform currently supports students and teachers around the world. Now, she's working on reliability estimation in LLMs as part of Responsible AI efforts, and developing a reliability-aware agentic system for transportation application.

    Her technical toolkit spans Python, React Native, React JS, LLMs, Fast API, SQL, and she’s well-versed in cloud-native development, containerization, and modern app architecture.

    Beyond building products, Johanne is a natural leader and community builder. She’s helped organize major AI events like the MENA Machine Learning Winter School with Google DeepMind and the Fanar Hackathon, and regularly participates in workshops that bring innovators together to solve real-world problems. She’s passionate about making AI practical, inclusive, and impactful, whether through startups, research, or developer enablement.
