Biography
Barry Solaiman is co-editor of the 'Research Handbook on Health, AI and the Law’. He is publishing widely in the area of AI regulation in healthcare and has presented around the globe. Beyond AI, he is examining the regulation of the metaverse and blockchain in healthcare. His full list of publications are linked below.
At HBKU, he was Lead Principal Investigator for a multidisciplinary grant that developed guidelines for the use of AI/Machine Learning in healthcare research. At WCM-Q, he serves as Co-Director of the Intersection of Law & Medicine Series which is accredited by both the Ministry of Public Health in Qatar, and ACCME in the United States.
He is also passionate about lobbying reform and elections (campaign finance) – the topic of his PhD at the University of Cambridge. The healthcare lobby is the most powerful in the world and impacts many of the laws that are made. Ultimately, he is determined to bridge the gap between law, ethics, science and medicine - something he strives to achieve in his research.
